Family Day to Easter: Savour the 2026 Maple Syrup Experience at Elliott Tree Farm

February 14 – April 5, 2026
Elliott Tree Farm, 9467 E Garafraxa Erin Townline, Hillsburgh

Spring arrives sweetly at Elliott Tree Farm with the return of its much-anticipated 2026 Maple Syrup Experience, running from Family Day long weekend (February 14, 15 and 16) through Easter weekend, ending April 5, 2026. In addition to weekends, the experience is also offered on Monday, March 16 and Friday, March 20, during March Break, as well as Friday, April 3 (Good Friday). This seasonal tradition offers families and visitors a chance to slow down, head outdoors and celebrate one of Canada’s most iconic flavours.

Designed as a three-part journey — from barn to forest to heritage space — the experience blends hearty food, hands-on learning and classic countryside charm. Reservations are available online only, ensuring a smooth and well-paced visit for all guests.

From the Horse Barn Canteen to the Sugar Shack

Your maple adventure begins in the warm and welcoming Horse Barn Canteen with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. Freshly grilled pancakes are served with Ontario pure maple syrup, alongside Canadian side bacon, maple breakfast sausage and fresh butter. Guests can enjoy hot apple cider, coffee or tea, as well as juice or bottled water. Four seating times are available — 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am and 12:30 pm — allowing flexibility for families and groups.

After breakfast, it’s time to explore the forest. A 10–15-minute sugarbush trail walk leads to the traditional sugar shack, where visitors see firsthand how maple syrup is made. Along the way, guests can check sap buckets in the trees and taste maple in its many forms, including raw sap, partially cooked sap, fresh maple sugar and maple taffy poured over snow. The sugar shack is open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and complimentary toboggans are available to borrow for the trail, adding extra fun for younger visitors.

Heritage, Tastes and a True Canadian Tradition

The final stop is the beautifully restored 1850 Heritage Barn, home to the Maple Syrup Museum of Ontario. Here, visitors can explore the rich history of maple syrup production and learn how this annual tradition has evolved over generations. The museum visit includes tastings of Elliott Tree Farm’s award-winning maple syrup grades, with maple products, freshly baked treats, local gifts and farm apparel available for purchase.

Each ticket includes free parking, farm and trail access, museum entry, the full pancake breakfast, tastings throughout the sugarbush experience, a campfire and complimentary toboggans. Dogs are welcome on a leash, including in the Horse Barn Canteen dining area. Guests are encouraged to dress for spring conditions, as trails can be muddy.
