Maple Mystery at The Village at Black Creek

March 16 – 20, 2026 | 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Village at Black Creek, 1000 Murray Ross Pkwy, Toronto

Maple Mystery at The Village is a seasonal, family-oriented event presented by The Village at Black Creek from March 16 to March 20, 2026, running daily from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the historic open-air museum in Toronto’s Black Creek area.

Set against the backdrop of early spring and maple sap season, this experience invites visitors of all ages to step into an engaging mystery adventure. Something curious has occurred in the sugarbush, and your mission is to help unravel what’s going on before the very last drop of syrup is poured!

Solve the Sticky Case with Clues and Characters

At the heart of the event is an interactive scavenger-style mystery. Families team up with costumed characters — including a Sherlock Holmes-inspired detective and his trusty partner, Dr. Watson — to hunt for hints hidden throughout the Village. Participants follow riddles, interview villagers and collect clues to uncover the “sticky culprit” behind the sugarbush mystery.

The investigation is woven through hands-on maple-themed stations across the site, blending entertainment with education. Along the way, visitors learn how maple sap becomes the sweet syrup enjoyed around the world, and explore the deep traditions of maple sugaring practised by Indigenous Peoples, a craft passed down through generations and still inspiring to this day.
