These special presentations of Harry Potter in Concert will be conducted by Evan Mitchell, one of Canada’s most innovative and sought-after conductors. Currently the Music Director of the Kingston Symphony, Music Director of Opera 5, and Interim Music Director of the Thunder Bay Symphony, Mitchell is also Canada’s most prolific film live-in-concert conductor, performing an astonishing repertoire of thirty-five film scores this season.

Over his career, Evan has introduced nearly half a million young people to the magic of orchestral music, many experiencing it for the first time. During the pandemic, he co-created Harmon in Space, an educational web series with puppets that introduces children to the instruments of the orchestra, and Threepenny Submarine, a web series that introduces young audiences to opera, winning the international award for Digital Excellence from Opera America in 2024.
