Discover Parliament This March Break

Families looking for an engaging and educational March Break activity can explore Ontario’s Parliament through the March Break Family Fun Program at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. Designed for children aged 6 to 12 and their parents or guardians, this interactive two-hour experience offers a fun and accessible introduction to how provincial government works.

Led by knowledgeable staff guides, the programme combines history, civic education and hands-on activities inside the historic Legislative Building at Queen’s Park. It is an ideal opportunity for families to learn together while exploring one of Ontario’s most significant landmarks.

Interactive Highlights

The March Break Family Fun Program is designed to keep young visitors actively involved. The guided session includes:

  • A two-hour guided tour of the Legislative Building
  • A parliamentary-themed scavenger hunt
  • The opportunity to dress in a traditional parliamentary robe
  • Participation in a lively mock debate

Children will step into the role of a Member of Provincial Parliament during the mock debate, learning how laws are discussed and decisions are made. The scavenger hunt encourages teamwork and observation as families uncover architectural details and historical features throughout the building. Dressing in traditional attire adds an element of excitement and creates memorable photo opportunities.
