Cabbagetown Festival Returns for Its 47th Year in Toronto

September 12 – 13, 2026
Parliament St. and Carlton St., Cabbagetown, Toronto

Each September, one of Toronto’s most distinctive neighbourhoods transforms into a lively celebration of community spirit, local talent and historic charm. Now in its 47th year, the Cabbagetown Festival returns for a weekend of open-air entertainment, shopping and family-friendly fun in the heart of Cabbagetown.

Taking place on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the festival stretches along Parliament Street and Carlton Street. Admission is free, making it an accessible and welcoming event for residents and visitors alike.

A Neighbourhood Celebration

Hosted by the Cabbagetown BIA, the festival showcases the best of the historic Cabbagetown district. Known for its beautifully preserved Victorian homes and leafy streets, the area provides a picturesque backdrop for a bustling street fair that has become a late-summer tradition in Toronto.

Over two days, Parliament Street is closed to traffic and lined with local businesses, artisan vendors and community groups. Shoppers can browse everything from handmade crafts and jewellery to clothing, home décor and specialty foods. Many neighbourhood shops and restaurants extend their patios and offer special promotions, creating a festive, village-like atmosphere.

Live Music and Local Talent

A key highlight of the Cabbagetown Festival is its vibrant entertainment line-up. Live music stages feature an eclectic mix of performers, from indie bands and singer-songwriters to family-friendly acts that keep crowds entertained throughout the weekend. The programming reflects the diversity and creativity of the community, with local artists taking centre stage.

Street performers, buskers and interactive activities add to the lively ambience, ensuring there is always something happening as you stroll the festival route.

Family-Friendly Fun

Families will find plenty to enjoy, with activities designed to engage children of all ages. Face painting, games and hands-on workshops create a playful environment, while open green spaces nearby offer room to relax between performances and shopping stops. The welcoming, pedestrian-friendly layout makes it easy for families to explore at their own pace.

Food, Community and Connection

No street festival would be complete without great food. Visitors can sample a wide array of flavours from local eateries and food vendors, from sweet treats to savoury bites. Outdoor patios fill quickly as friends gather to enjoy the late-summer sunshine.

More than just a street fair, the Cabbagetown Festival is a celebration of community pride. It highlights independent businesses, supports local artists and brings together neighbours and visitors in a shared experience. As it marks its 47th year, this much-loved event continues to capture the spirit of one of Toronto’s most historic and vibrant neighbourhoods.
