The Toronto Palestine Film Festival (TPFF) returns for its 19th annual edition from September 30 to October 9, 2026, bringing audiences an inspiring programme of films, discussions and cultural events that showcase Palestinian voices from around the world.

Recognised as one of North America’s leading festivals dedicated to Palestinian cinema, TPFF continues its mission of connecting audiences through storytelling, creativity and cultural exchange. The 2026 festival will once again offer a hybrid format, with in-person screenings running from September 30 to October 4, 2026, followed by online programming available until October 9, 2026.

A Platform for Palestinian Stories

For nearly two decades, the Toronto Palestine Film Festival has presented films that explore a wide range of experiences, perspectives and artistic approaches. From compelling documentaries and thought-provoking dramas to short films and experimental works, the festival highlights the richness and diversity of Palestinian storytelling.

The selected films often examine themes of identity, family, resilience, displacement, culture and belonging while offering audiences opportunities to engage with stories that are both deeply personal and universally relevant.

Through cinema, TPFF creates space for dialogue and understanding, allowing filmmakers to share experiences that may otherwise go unseen by mainstream audiences.

In-Person and Online Experiences

Festival attendees will have the opportunity to experience screenings in person during the opening days of the festival, creating opportunities for community engagement and shared conversations around the featured films.

The extended online component ensures that audiences across Canada can participate in the festival, providing greater accessibility and allowing viewers to explore selected films from the comfort of home. This hybrid approach has become an important part of the festival’s ability to reach broader audiences while maintaining the excitement of live events.

In addition to film screenings, TPFF is expected to feature filmmaker discussions, special presentations and community-focused programming that encourages meaningful cultural exchange.

Celebrating Art, Culture and Community

Beyond the screen, the Toronto Palestine Film Festival serves as a celebration of Palestinian art and culture. The festival has earned a reputation for fostering connections between filmmakers, artists, scholars and audiences while creating opportunities for education and cultural appreciation.

Its continued growth reflects the increasing interest in international cinema and the importance of diverse perspectives within Canada’s cultural landscape.

Looking Ahead to TPFF 2026

As the festival prepares to mark its 19th year, audiences can look forward to another engaging programme of powerful films and thought-provoking conversations. Whether attending screenings in person or participating online, film lovers will have the opportunity to discover compelling stories that illuminate the experiences, creativity and voices of Palestinian filmmakers from around the world.
