The Gilles Villeneuve Pit Stop Brings Racing Heritage to the Canadian International AutoShow
February 13 – 22, 2026
Metro Toronto Convention Centre
The legacy of Canadian racing icon Gilles Villeneuve takes centre stage in Toronto as The Gilles Villeneuve Pit Stop arrives at the 2026 Canadian International AutoShow. Marking the fifth edition of the travelling immersive pop-up, the showcase makes its debut at Canada’s largest automotive event, offering fans a dynamic tribute to one of the country’s most celebrated drivers.
Presented as both a cultural experience and brand destination, the Pit Stop serves as the physical home of the Gilles Villeneuve brand, created in collaboration with creative agency Sid Lee and launched on May 27, 2025. The Toronto edition elevates the concept with a refined, museum-quality setting designed to capture the speed, intensity and enduring spirit of Villeneuve’s career.
A Museum-Quality Motorsport Experience
Located within The Vault, Presented by Simoniz, in the North Building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the space blends heritage storytelling with contemporary design.
Visitors can explore the GV Heritage Collection, the official apparel and accessories line introduced last spring. The boutique-style retail area anchors the experience, allowing fans to take home a piece of the legend.
A curated photographic installation traces Villeneuve’s career, from defining Formula One moments to candid personal snapshots, offering a deeper look at the man behind the helmet. Adding to the authenticity are faithful recreations of the 1977 Ferrari T2 and the 1976 Skiroule Formula Atlantic, alongside racing suits and helmets from the era. These replicas are provided by Christal Film, producer of the forthcoming official Gilles Villeneuve biopic, scheduled for release in late 2026.
Exclusive video installations further immerse visitors in the energy and emotion that made Villeneuve a global motorsport icon.
Honouring an Enduring Canadian Icon
More than four decades after his final race, Villeneuve’s reputation for fearless driving and raw talent continues to resonate worldwide. Melanie Villeneuve describes bringing the fifth Pit Stop to Toronto as a meaningful milestone, offering fans a place to reconnect with her father’s legacy and influence.
Jason Campbell, General Manager of the Canadian International AutoShow, calls the exhibit a fitting tribute to one of Canada’s most beloved drivers and a must-see for motorsport enthusiasts.
The 2026 Canadian International AutoShow runs from February 13 to 22, 2026, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Tickets are available through the official AutoShow website.
