Bay Studio Tour 2026 Invites Art Lovers to Explore Georgian Bay
October 3 – 4, 2026 | 10 am to 5 pm
Various locations, Penetanguishene and Tiny, Ontario
Art lovers have another reason to plan an autumn drive to Georgian Bay. The Bay Studio Tour 2026 returns on October 3 and 4, 2026, inviting visitors to explore studios, meet artists and discover original work throughout Tiny and Penetanguishene.
The self-guided tour runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. More than 30 participating artists at 20 locations will showcase their work at studios and galleries located near the shores of Georgian Bay.
Discover Artists Where They Create
Part of the appeal of a studio tour is the opportunity to see art outside a traditional gallery setting. Visitors can travel between participating locations at their own pace. Along the way, they can meet artists and learn more about their techniques, materials and inspiration.
The 2026 tour includes local artists from Tiny and Penetanguishene, as well as guest artists from surrounding communities.
That variety makes the weekend an accessible introduction to the region’s creative community. Visitors may find established artists they already know while also discovering new talent.
A Wide Range of Canadian Art
There is no single artistic style defining the Bay Studio Tour. Instead, the event brings together creators working across numerous disciplines.
Visitors can expect to encounter painting, sculpture, pottery, photography, textiles, jewellery, glass and wood art, among other forms of visual expression.
For example, participating artist Antje Gagné creates stoneware pottery ranging from tableware and platters to sculptural bowls, mosaics and pieces featuring botanical impressions. Meanwhile, Hilary Slater’s work includes plein-air painting inspired by landscapes such as the wilderness of Lake Superior.
With so many disciplines represented, visitors can experience a broad cross-section of the region’s artistic community during a single weekend.
Turn the Tour Into an Autumn Road Trip
The Bay Studio Tour also provides an opportunity to enjoy Georgian Bay during the autumn season. Rather than visiting one central venue, guests travel between different studios and galleries.
The official 2026 interactive map can help visitors create their route. It provides directions to each location, along with artist names, addresses, location numbers and special directions where required. Organisers recommend using the mobile map together with the tour brochure.
With 20 locations to explore, visitors may want to review the artist list beforehand and identify their must-see stops. Others can simply follow the route and see what they discover.
Supporting Artists and the Local Creative Community
Studio tours provide an important connection between artists and the public. Visitors can speak directly with creators, understand the stories behind individual pieces and potentially purchase original work.
The event itself is organized by a volunteer board with support from sponsors and patrons, reflecting the community effort behind the annual tour.
Whether visitors are searching for a distinctive piece of art or simply looking for an autumn outing, the Bay Studio Tour combines creativity with the scenery of Georgian Bay.
