Night at the Museum Returns to Markham with Free Outdoor Family Movies

Families looking for a memorable summer evening can once again enjoy Night at the Museum at Markham Museum. Presented by Don Valley North Toyota, Don Valley North Lexus, and Genesis Markham, the popular outdoor movie series returns with four free screenings throughout the summer.

Held on the museum grounds at 9350 Markham Road, the events invite visitors to bring lawn chairs, relax under the stars and enjoy family-friendly films in a welcoming outdoor setting. Admission is free, although advance registration is required. Guests can also enjoy complimentary popcorn and sponsor giveaways while supplies last.

Night at the Museum combines the charm of outdoor cinema with the historic surroundings of Markham Museum. The relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal outing for families, friends and neighbours looking to spend a summer evening together.

July Screenings

The series begins with Cars on Thursday, July 9, 2026. Gates open at 8:45 p.m., with the film starting at 9:30 p.m. Rated G, the animated favourite follows rookie race car Lightning McQueen as he discovers that friendship, community and kindness are more important than winning.

The second screening takes place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, featuring Bolt. Gates again open at 8:45 p.m., and the movie begins at 9:30 p.m. Rated PG, the adventure follows a television star dog who believes his fictional superpowers are real as he embarks on a cross-country journey.

August Family Favourites

Movie nights continue on Thursday, August 13, 2026, with The Bad Guys 2. Gates open at 8:15 p.m., and the film begins at 9:00 p.m. Rated PG, the sequel follows the reformed gang as they are drawn back into one final high-stakes mission.

The series concludes on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with the highly anticipated Zootopia 2. Gates also open at 8:15 p.m., with the movie beginning at 9:00 p.m. Audiences can once again join Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they investigate a brand-new mystery together.
