The Town of Ajax is preparing for an exciting Canada Day celebration on July 1, 2026, welcoming residents and visitors to the new Ajax Fairgrounds for an afternoon and evening filled with community spirit, entertainment and family-friendly fun.

Running from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the event offers a lively atmosphere with activities for all ages. Guests can explore cultural performances, children’s activities, local vendors and interactive experiences throughout the grounds, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display at the end of the evening.

Entertainment and Cultural Performances

Throughout the afternoon and evening, the fairgrounds will host a variety of live entertainment and cultural performances celebrating the diversity and creativity of the Ajax community. Performers will take to the stage with music, dance and engaging presentations designed to entertain audiences of all ages.

Visitors can wander through the event site and enjoy the festive energy while discovering community booths and a marketplace featuring local groups, artisans and businesses. These displays highlight the many organisations and initiatives that help make Ajax a vibrant and welcoming community.

Family Activities and Interactive Experiences

Canada Day in Ajax places a strong focus on family fun. Children can take part in a wide selection of games, activities and interactive experiences designed to keep young visitors engaged throughout the day.

Visitors are encouraged to remain mindful of noise levels within the area, and all activities require supervision by a parent or guardian. Noise-cancelling headphones will also be available to rent on site, helping ensure the celebration remains accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Food Vendors and Community Atmosphere

Food and beverage vendors will be located throughout the fairgrounds, offering a wide variety of delicious options for visitors to enjoy during the festivities. From festival favourites to refreshing drinks, there will be plenty of choices available throughout the afternoon and evening.

Nominal fees apply for food and beverages, and ATMs will be available on site for convenience.

Free Shuttle Service and Fireworks Finale

Because parking at the Ajax Fairgrounds is limited, visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the free Canada Day shuttle service. Shuttles will depart from convenient locations including the GO parking lot off O’Brien Court and Ajax Town Hall at 65 Harwood Avenue South, with another location to be confirmed. The first shuttle pick-up begins at 1:45 p.m., and the final departure from Audley Recreation Centre is scheduled for 10:45 p.m.. Buses are expected to run approximately every 20 minutes, although schedules may shift slightly depending on traffic, weather or other unforeseen delays.

The celebration concludes with a spectacular fireworks finale at 10:00 p.m., lighting up the night sky above the Ajax Fairgrounds. Families and friends are invited to gather across the event grounds to watch the colourful display that marks the grand ending of the day’s festivities.
