From February 13 to March 8, 2026, Illuminite returns to Downtown Yonge in Toronto, transforming city streets and public spaces into a vibrant winter celebration of light, art, and interactive play. Now in its third year, this free annual event invites visitors to explore the theme of “PLAY” through imaginative, illuminated installations spread across five unique locations in the heart of the city.

Whether you’re out for a stroll after work, spending time with family, or simply curious about outdoor art, Illuminite creates an engaging way to experience winter evenings in the city. Each installation combines light, colour and movement to spark joy and encourage connection with others.

Illuminite Locations: Explore five stunning installations across Downtown Yonge

Oval Swings at 777 Bay Plaza

At 777 Bay Plaza, the Oval Swings installation showcases glowing LED swings that invite participants of all ages to take a seat and sway beneath the lights. This playful display blends movement and illumination to create moments of connection and whimsy.

Horizon at College Park

In front of College Park’s Yonge Street entrance, Horizon presents a large-scale 3D light matrix comprising more than 3,000 LED lights. As visitors interact with this installation, the waves of light shift, creating dynamic patterns of colour and motion that transform the plaza into a mesmerising visual playground.

Hearts at Play in Granby Parkette

Hearts at Play lights up Granby Parkette with three bold, interactive sculptures that celebrate community and creativity. These radiant heart-shaped displays are designed for playful engagement, encouraging visitors to reflect and enjoy the glowing art together.

POP! by Gentilhomme at Sankofa Square

At Sankofa Square, POP! by Gentilhomme brings a burst of energy with quirky characters hidden within glowing monoliths. Participants can call out, sing or dance to activate movement, sound and colour — making this installation a lively celebration of collective play and wonder.

Domino Effect at Trinity Square Park

In Trinity Square Park, Domino Effect invites guests to join a hands-on musical experience using giant pastel-coloured dominos. Each domino triggers a unique note, from rhythm to melody, turning the city park into an interactive orchestra of sound and light.
