Celebrate Canada Day 2025 at Burlington’s Scenic Waterfront

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Burlington invites residents and visitors to celebrate Canada Day at the picturesque Spencer Smith Park, nestled along the shores of Lake Ontario. This free, family-friendly event promises a day filled with engaging activities, live entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks and drone display to cap off the festivities.

The day’s celebrations commence at 9:00 a.m. with a serene session of free yoga in the park, held near the Compass on the West Lawn. This is an excellent opportunity to start the day with mindfulness and relaxation in a beautiful outdoor setting.

The official opening ceremonies commence at 4:00 p.m., led by the Burlington Teen Tour Band. Evening performances begin at 6:30 p.m. with Lucky Honey, followed by a headline act at 8:00 p.m.

Canada Day Races

For those seeking a more active start, the Canada Day Races offer 1K, 3K, and 5K run/walk options beginning at 8:00 a.m. The 3K race is dog-friendly, encouraging participants to bring their furry friends along. The races start and finish at the East Lawn near the pier, providing scenic views throughout the course.

Family Fun and Entertainment

From noon to 4:00 p.m., the Kids Zone will be in full swing, featuring performances by The Whoopsie Daisies and the Noise Pollution Rock Band, as well as the entertaining antics of Juggler Ben. At 2:20 p.m., the Burlington Teen Tour Band Drum Line will lead the city in a nationwide six-minute drumming event, uniting communities across Canada in rhythmic celebration.

Fireworks and Drone Show

Transportation and Accessibility

To accommodate attendees, a free shuttle service will operate from Mainway Arena to downtown Burlington starting at noon, with the last shuttle departing at 11:30 p.m. Cyclists can take advantage of free bike parking near the Waterfront Hotel.
