May 29 – 31, 2026
Various Toronto Locations

Jazz lovers can look forward to an inspiring weekend as JazzInToronto’s Community Celebration returns from May 29th to 31st, 2026. Organised by the not-for-profit JazzInToronto, the festival spotlights homegrown talent while bringing audiences together across Toronto’s vibrant downtown core.

Produced by respected musicians Lina Welch and Ori Dagan, and supported by the Toronto Arts Council, the event spans three key neighbourhoods: St. Lawrence Market, Yorkville, and Yonge-Dundas Square. Each area will host a mix of performances reflecting jazz’s rich diversity—from classic swing and bebop to soul, funk, and contemporary interpretations.

Opening Night Highlights

The festival begins on Friday, May 29, with free outdoor concerts along Market Street, presented by the St. Lawrence Market District. Trumpeter Atcheleh Aryee takes the stage at midday with her sextet, followed by a lively early evening performance from vocalist Alex Pangman, joined by acclaimed musicians Drew Jurecka and Nathan Hiltz.

Indoor programming continues at TD Music Hall with a debut show by GRACE, an all-female ensemble delivering high-energy sounds. The night wraps up at Jazz Bistro with a late-night jam hosted by Indigenous dancer Johnathan Morin, blending movement and improvisation.

Saturday’s Standout Performances

Saturday, May 30, centres on a highly anticipated tribute to neo-soul icon D’Angelo, led by pianist Michael Shand at TD Music Hall. Featuring a full band and multiple vocalists, the performance promises a dynamic reinterpretation of D’Angelo’s catalogue.

A Memorable Finale

The celebration concludes on Sunday, May 31, with a full day of music. Highlights include performances by Hilario Duran and Thompson Egbo-Egbo at Liss Gallery, and a guitar masterclass led by Nathan Hiltz at The Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues Bar.

Later, vocalist Ale Nunez pays tribute to Julie London at The Pilot. The festival closes with a special reunion concert at Allied Music Centre Theatre, featuring celebrated artists Jane Bunnett, Reg Schwager, and Neil Swainson—sharing the stage in Toronto for the first time in decades.
