Halloween at The Village Brings Spooky Family Fun to Black Creek

Halloween takes over The Village at Black Creek this October with three days of spooky — but not too scary — family fun. Halloween at The Village returns October 24, 25 and 31, 2026, inviting families to explore historic buildings filled with witches, monsters, experiments, stories, games and plenty of Halloween surprises.

Designed especially for families with children ages 3 to 12, the daytime celebration combines Halloween imagination with the atmospheric surroundings of Toronto’s historic 19th-century village.

Step Inside the Monster Houses

Visitors can make their way through The Village’s heritage buildings, transformed for Halloween with a collection of interactive experiences.

The adventure begins at the Witches’ Lair, where young visitors can discover spellbinding activities and help the resident witches create something magical around their cauldron.

At the Enchanted Library, families can settle in for spooky stories surrounded by the historic building’s wood-panelled atmosphere.

Young scientists can then lend a hand during the Slimy Science Show, where gooey experiments and grisly concoctions are used in an attempt to bring a pumpkin to life.

Trick-or-Treating Through History

Costumed visitors can go trick-or-treating at five heritage buildings throughout The Village, adding a historic twist to one of Halloween’s favourite traditions.

Families can also visit the School of Monsters to discover creatures and legends from around the world before testing their skills at creepy carnival games.

Creative visitors can make their own ghostly friend or Halloween craft to take home, while budding puppeteers can create a howling puppet before bringing it along to a live puppet show.

Costumes Encouraged

Children and adults are encouraged to arrive dressed for Halloween, although costumes are not required. For everyone’s comfort and safety, scary masks and costume weapons should be left at home.

The event takes place rain or shine. If poor weather arrives, outdoor activities will be moved indoors where possible.

Food, baked goods and snacks will also be available for purchase during the day.
