First, see the exhibit "Freedom, Opportunity, and Family: Oakville's Black History." Then, watch the exciting multimedia presentation "The Underground Railroad: Next Stop Freedom," which tells a true story about escaping from slavery.

The tour ends with an outdoor walk highlighting the local history of Oakville and the Underground Railroad. Please dress appropriately for the outdoor walk.

Don't miss Santa's special visit to the Oakville Museum! Start your adventure at Oakville's First Post Office, where you can write a letter to Santa. Then, take a tour of the Erchless Estate, beautifully decorated for Christmases past. Create magic in the Coach House before meeting Santa in his cozy sitting room. Please note that your 30-minute booking is for a visit with Santa in the Coach House. During this time, you will begin with a craft, and then Santa will welcome you for a short visit.

Caregivers are welcome to take their own photos of children with Santa.

Step back in time this holiday season and visit the historic Erchless Estate, beautifully decorated for an 1800s Christmas. Enjoy a wide variety of decorations, including fanciful ornaments, adorned trees, vintage fashions, and antique toys. Stroll through the estate grounds to discover Victorian vignettes and a dazzling display of lights. End your tour with a festive treat and a hot beverage.

Discover Oakville’s Black history with a Museum Walking Tour offered at 1 and 3 p.m. at the Oakville Museum. This guided experience explores the stories of early Black settlers who helped shape the community and their lasting contributions. The tour concludes with an outdoor walk highlighting Oakville’s historical connections to the Underground Railroad, offering meaningful insight into the town’s role in the journey toward freedom.

Join us on February 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a full day of winter fun at the park. Explore trails, barns and outdoor play areas while enjoying DIY activities such as searching for Gnome Road, climbing the toboggan hill, and visiting the scenic ravine lookout. Children can enjoy the Playbarn and farm animals, while outdoor enthusiasts can snowshoe, ski, or toboggan. Additional activities include birding, photography, disc golf, and GPS tours. Don’t forget to purchase your daily vehicle permit!

March Break Craft Workshops take place from 9:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Coach House. Designed for children aged 6 to 10, these creative workshops invite participants to make fun, hands-on craft projects inspired by the museum’s collection. The programme also includes a visit to the museum and a guided tour of the historic Erchless Estate, combining creativity with discovery during March Break.
