Oakville Remembrance Trail Run 2026 Honours Veterans Through Community and Purpose

November 7, 2026 | Starts 10:00 a.m.
Start and End at Upper Middle Park, 207 McCraney St W, Oakville

The Oakville Remembrance Trail Run returns for its second annual edition on November 7, 2026, bringing together runners, families, veterans, and community supporters for a meaningful day of remembrance and connection. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. from Upper Middle Park in Oakville, the event combines scenic trail running with a powerful mission to honour veterans, first responders, and their families.

Participants will take on either a 5 km or 11 km route through the picturesque trails of Lions Valley, one of Oakville’s most beautiful natural areas. More than simply a race, the event has been created as a tribute to those who have served and sacrificed while also raising funds for an important national cause.

Running With Purpose

The Oakville Remembrance Trail Run supports Wounded Warriors Canada, an organisation dedicated to helping veterans, first responders, and their families affected by operational stress injuries and trauma. Proceeds from the event contribute directly to programmes and services designed to provide mental health support, counselling, and community resources.

Organisers describe the event as a “remembrance movement” that encourages participants to reflect on the contributions and sacrifices made by service members while building community connections through fitness and shared purpose.

Whether participants choose the shorter 5 km course or the more challenging 11 km route, the emphasis remains on unity, remembrance, and support rather than competition alone.

Scenic Trails Through Lions Valley

The event route takes runners through the natural beauty of Lions Valley Park, offering rolling trails, wooded pathways, and scenic landscapes that showcase Oakville’s outdoor spaces during the autumn season.

Starting and finishing at Upper Middle Park, located at 207 McCraney Street West, the course combines challenging terrain with rewarding views, creating an engaging experience for both seasoned trail runners and recreational participants.

The late-autumn setting adds to the atmosphere of reflection and remembrance, with crisp air and colourful scenery accompanying runners throughout the course.

Community Spirit and Event Preparation

The Oakville Remembrance Trail Run welcomes participants of varying experience levels, encouraging individuals, families, and groups to take part together. Supporters who may not wish to run are also invited to attend and cheer on participants throughout the morning.

To help streamline race-day operations, organisers plan to offer an early run kit pickup at Neyagawa Park, with final pickup details expected closer to the event date. Participants unable to attend the early pickup will still be able to collect their kits at the registration desk on race morning.

As the event takes place rain or shine, runners are encouraged to prepare for cool or potentially wet November weather by dressing appropriately for outdoor trail conditions.

Combining fitness, remembrance, and community support, the Oakville Remembrance Trail Run continues to grow as a meaningful annual event that honours service while making a positive impact locally and nationally.
