Little Artists: Creative Art & Stories for Families at Oakville Galleries

January 29 – December 17, 2026 | 4:00 -5:00 pm
Oakville Galleries, 308 Lakeshore Rd E, Oakville

Oakville Galleries’ Little Artists programme invites families to explore art and creativity together through monthly workshops that blend hands‑on art‑making with literary elements from the Oakville Public Library. Designed to engage young minds alongside their caregivers, Little Artists offers a welcoming space where children and adults can craft, imagine and learn in a relaxed gallery setting.

Each workshop is built around a mini art class paired with a story that connects literature and the visual arts. Participants are encouraged to experiment with a variety of materials and techniques as they work on new projects each session. With guidance from both Oakville Galleries educators and Oakville Public Library staff, the programme emphasises creative confidence and shared learning experiences.

Little Artists is free of charge, but pre‑registration is required. Adults and children attend the workshops together, and one adult must register on behalf of the family group, which can include up to four participants from the same household. The sessions are suitable for young learners and cater to families looking to enjoy quality creative time together.

Workshops take place monthly on Thursdays from 4:00–5:00 PM at Oakville Galleries’ Education Centre within Gairloch Gardens, located at 1306 Lakeshore Road East, just east of downtown Oakville. Parking is free, with a limited number of spots adjacent to the gallery and additional spaces in the main Gairloch Gardens lot. Participants are advised to dress for art‑making, as aprons and smocks are not provided, and to bring a reusable bag or box to take home their finished creations.
