The story follows eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts, whose inventive mind and kind-hearted nature lead him and his children, Jeremy and Jemima, on an unforgettable journey. Alongside the charming Truly Scrumptious, the family restores an old racing car that turns out to be far more extraordinary than anyone could imagine. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is no ordinary automobile — it can soar through the skies and sail across the sea, opening the door to thrilling adventures and magical discoveries.
Their joyful travels soon attract the attention of the villainous Baron Bombast and the equally determined Baroness, who become obsessed with possessing the incredible car for themselves. As danger and mischief unfold, the Potts family must outwit their enemies while protecting Chitty and preserving the wonder she represents.
Based on the classic 1968 film and inspired by Ian Fleming’s original novel, the musical combines whimsical fantasy with touches of espionage and adventure. Audiences can expect dazzling stage effects, colourful costumes and lively choreography that bring the fantastical world of Chitty to life. The production also features an unforgettable score packed with beloved songs, including the Academy Award-nominated title tune, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”.
