2026 TD Toronto Jazz Festival Summer Concert Series

June 19 – 28, 2026
Various Location

For nearly four decades, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival has set the rhythm for summer in the city. What began in 1987 as an eight-day focused celebration of jazz has grown into a ten-day cultural phenomenon that welcomes more than half a million attendees annually and showcases over 1,500 musicians across Toronto.

Produced by the Toronto Downtown Jazz Society, the Festival has evolved into one of North America’s most respected jazz gatherings, celebrated for its artistic excellence and dynamic programming. Its continued growth reflects the strength of its partnerships with civic leaders, sponsors, volunteers and donors, as well as recognition from the Toronto City Council as an event of municipal significance that elevates Canada’s international cultural reputation.

A Global Stage for Jazz Excellence

Over the years, the Festival has become a must-play destination for internationally acclaimed artists while remaining deeply committed to Canadian talent. The 39th season, running June 19–28, expands that tradition with eight newly announced headline concerts.

New additions include Cassandra Wilson, Isaiah Collier, DOMi & JD Beck, The Dip, Kassa Overall, Sullivan Fortner, Mei Semones, and Gentiane MG. They join previously announced performers Emilie-Claire Barlow, Kokoroko, Hiromi, and Ibrahim Maalouf, creating a line-up that reflects the global influences shaping jazz today.

Artistic Director Josh Grossman notes that this year’s programming honours jazz’s deep history while showcasing the diverse voices propelling it forward — a fitting reflection of Toronto’s international identity.

Celebrating Milestones and Musical Legacy

Among the season’s highlights is a special centennial tribute to John Coltrane, led by Isaiah Collier. The programme celebrates the enduring influence of one of jazz’s most transformative figures, reinforcing the Festival’s commitment to honouring the genre’s foundational artists.

Elsewhere in the programme, audiences can expect Grammy-winning artistry, adventurous genre-blending and performances that stretch from soul and funk-infused sounds to avant-garde experimentation. Cassandra Wilson marks the 30th anniversary of her acclaimed album New Moon Daughter, while DOMi & JD Beck bring their high-energy, rhythmically daring style to Toronto audiences. Across venues large and intimate, the music promises both reverence and reinvention.

The Summer Series and Community Connection

Beyond the headline concerts, the Festival’s Summer Series continues to spotlight local artists who represent the many dimensions of jazz — from emerging “young lions” to seasoned innovators. Over ten weeks, ten local acts will each bring their own perspective to the stage, highlighting the Festival’s dedication to mentorship, artistic diversity and community engagement.

Free outdoor performances throughout Yorkville and the downtown core further reinforce the Festival’s inclusive spirit, transforming public spaces into vibrant hubs of creativity and connection.
