Experience Swedish Food, Culture and Festive Fun in Toronto
Toronto will welcome back a favourite Scandinavian holiday tradition when the Swedish Christmas Fair returns to the George Brown College Waterfront Campus on November 21–22, 2026.
Presented by SWEA Toronto, the annual fair brings Swedish Christmas traditions, food, shopping and entertainment together for a festive weekend on Toronto’s waterfront. The 2026 event will take place at 51 Dockside Drive, with convenient access by public transit and nearby parking.
The Swedish Christmas Fair will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 22.
A Taste of a Swedish Christmas
Food is an important part of the celebration. Visitors can explore Mathörnan – Taste of Sweden, featuring a selection of traditional Swedish favourites and imported specialties.
Offerings include fish, herring and caviar, along with Swedish candy and chocolate, pantry staples, coffee, drinks and baked goods. Popular treats available through the fair include pepparkakor (gingerbread cookies), lussekatter (saffron buns), kanelbullar (cinnamon buns) and traditional crispbread.
The event also provides an opportunity to experience Swedish culture and Christmas traditions. The fair is known for its Lucia procession, Swedish folk dancers and singers, children’s crafts, books, cultural displays and Swedish-designed products.
For Toronto families with Swedish roots, the weekend offers a chance to reconnect with familiar traditions. For other visitors, it provides an introduction to the food, customs and festive atmosphere of a traditional Swedish Christmas.
Swedish Christmas Shopping
The fair’s online shop also offers Swedish food and specialty products for pre-order. All online orders must be picked up in person, as shipping and delivery are not available. A $5 processing fee applies to online orders.

More Than a Holiday Fair
The Swedish Christmas Fair has been part of Toronto’s holiday season since 1982 and is SWEA Toronto’s largest annual fundraiser. Proceeds help support the organisation’s donations and scholarship programs, including Swedish cultural organisations in the Greater Toronto Area and scholarships for Ontario students accepted to study at Swedish universities.
