In Support of Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation
On June 21, 2026, runners, walkers and families will gather at Stouffville Memorial Park for the fourth annual Stouffville Main Street 5K and Kids 1K Dash. Set in the heart of Whitchurch-Stouffville, this lively event blends fitness, family fun and community spirit while raising funds for the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.
A Race for All Ages and Abilities
Whether you’re a seasoned runner aiming for a personal best or a casual participant looking to enjoy a morning outdoors, the Main Street 5K welcomes all fitness levels. The race begins in staggered waves at 8:30 am, allowing participants to choose a start group based on their expected finish time. Walkers are encouraged to join the designated wave to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
For younger participants, the Kids 1K Dash at 10:00 am offers an exciting opportunity to get involved. Designed to be fun and inclusive, the dash gives children a chance to experience the thrill of crossing a finish line while being cheered on by family and friends.
Event Day Schedule and Atmosphere
The day kicks off early, with the Runners Village opening at 7:30 am. This central hub serves as a gathering place for participants, spectators and supporters alike. Opening remarks at 8:00 am set the tone for a spirited and welcoming event, highlighting the importance of community participation and charitable giving.
The atmosphere throughout the morning is energetic and supportive, with volunteers and spectators lining the route. While strollers are permitted in the 5K, participants using them are asked to start at the back of their selected wave. For safety reasons, bicycles, scooters and rollerblades are not allowed on the course, and pets are restricted to the runners’ village area.
Supporting Local Healthcare
At the heart of the event is its mission to support the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation. While fundraising is optional, participants are encouraged to contribute, with suggested minimums of $100 for adults and $50 for children. Every dollar raised beyond event costs goes directly towards enhancing patient care, equipment and services at the hospital.
Donations of more than $20 are eligible for a charitable tax receipt, and participants who raise over $250 will be entered into a prize draw—adding an extra incentive to give back.
More Than Just a Race
The Stouffville Main Street 5K and Kids 1K Dash is more than a running event—it’s a celebration of community connection, health and generosity. From first-time runners to experienced athletes, and from young children to supportive spectators, the event brings people together for a meaningful cause in a welcoming and festive environment.
With its scenic setting, inclusive format and charitable focus, this annual run continues to grow as a highlight of the local summer calendar.
