Papier Mâché Sculptures Workshop with Tatjana Reithofer
February 28 and March 1, 2026
Oakville Art Society, 560 Bronte Road, Oakville
Oakville Art Society is thrilled to host a two-day Papier Mâché Sculptures workshop led by multidisciplinary artist Tatjana Reithofer on Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 12:30–4:30 PM in Studio ONE. Open to all ages and skill levels, this hands-on workshop invites participants to explore the playful world of papier mâché using household materials such as tinfoil, masking tape, and cardboard.
Inspired by Mexican Alebrijes and other fantastical chimeras, participants will create their own whimsical sculptures that blend real and imagined forms. Day One focuses on building armatures and making homemade paper clay and pulp, while Day Two centres on painting and finishing each creation. Participants are encouraged to experiment with colour, texture, and pattern to bring their sculptures to life, with guidance from Tatjana to foster storytelling and creative expression through three-dimensional art.
