Popular Toronto hot spots looking to take a bite out of CNE food craze

It’s no secret that food has become synonymous with the CNE experience; year after year over 1.6 million visitors flock to The EX to get a taste of some of the culinary concoctions that CNE vendors can conjure up. And while the highly anticipated line-up of zany carnival eats remains a well-kept secret for now, the CNE is divulging some of the exciting NEW food vendors that foodies can look forward to this year.

Among the recognizable names that have gained popularity as Toronto hot spots is Egg Club, known for its signature Japanese milk bread (the hottest baking trend of 2024), which will be serving up their savoury sandwiches in the CNE Food Building for the first time. O-Mochi, (formerly Marry Me Mochi) with multiple locations in the city adding a pop-up inside the CNE Food Building to offer their premium mochi donuts with an exclusive new CNE flavour (stay tuned); and even fine dining restaurants are getting in on the CNE craze such as Tamarind Modern Indian Bistro – one of the best-kept secrets in Mississauga for Indian food will bring its elevated modern dishes to the masses.

New Food Vendors Making Their CNE Debut in 2024The CNE experience wouldn’t be complete without eating your way outdoors and through the Midway, from the iconic waffle ice cream sandwiches and corn dogs to the viral hits such as Ketchup and Mustard ice cream, and pickle cotton candy. Always a nucleus of creative inventions, the outdoor food offerings are about to get a whole lot more delicious. New outdoor food stands to seek out this year include Greekery Bakery putting new twists on traditional desserts and pastries; and don’t forget the plethora of Food Trucks along Princes’ Blvd and throughout the grounds including the CNE debut of Los Vietnamita (Vietnamese Mexican fusion), Tut’s Egyptian Street Food, and the Fry-R Truck, an actual fire truck converted to a food truck located near Bandshell Park.

Ribfest is also returning to Bandshell Park with international flavours to try from new and returning ribbers including Randy’s Halal Ribs, What A Jerk, Slow Jam Filipino-style ribs, PK Concessions and BBQ Boyzz – so get your paper napkins ready!
