Honouring Legacy & Building for the Future: dance Immersion celebrates 30 years of success with performances, speeches, a film screening, and a party with DJ and dancing.
Performances by:
- Governor General’s Performing Arts Award recipient, Zab Maboungou with Elli Miller Maboungou
- Bessie Awar-Winning American dancer and choreographer, Germaul Barnes
- Internationally renowned master Guinean drummer and dancer, M’Bemba Bangoura
- Multidisciplinary dance company, Artists in Motion
- Celebrated youth drum and dance performers, NGOMA Ensemble
Speeches by:
- Member of the Order of the British Empire, choreographer, filmmaker, visual artist, storyteller, researcher, and performer, Dr. H. Patten
- Award-winning dance Immersion founder and global engagement advisor, Vivine Scarlett
And the screening of a documentary short film directed by award-winning independent producer, director, multimedia artist, facilitator, and writer, Ella Cooper. Master of ceremonies: Nicole Inica Hamilton. The stage presentation will be followed by a fête with a DJ, dancing, and delicious refreshments!
Celebratory fundraiser
The dance Immersion 30th Anniversary Gala, Honouring Legacy & Building for the Future, is a celebratory fundraiser. Each ticket purchase supports dance Immersion’s Building for the Future Fund and commemorates 30 years of championing Black dance artists. In our efforts to raise $50,000 for the future of dance Immersion, we invite guests to select a ticket price that suits their desired level of support.
