It’s that time of the year again! Pride is fast approaching and Buddies in Bad Times Theatre has posted a roster of events on their website along with ticketing! All month long, Buddies will host a stellar line-up of Toronto’s most exciting queer entertainers, with guest producers bringing their best, alongside Buddies staple events.

Queer Pride is radical love and defiant self-expression. It’s a time to celebrate everything that we are and all that we can be while reimagining the spaces we create for all of our queer communities to come together.

It’s in this spirit that Buddies in Bad Times Theatre presents Queer Pride 2024 – a festival of queer theatre, comedy, cabaret, art, music, and parties that showcases our community’s unstoppable spirit. All month long, Buddies hosts a stellar line-up of Toronto’s most exciting queer entertainers, with guest producers bringing their best, alongside Buddies staple events.

2024 Event Highlights

Buddies’ 45th Birthday Party!
May 24 | 8 pm | Free Event

Celebrate your favourite queer theatre’s 45th birthday with a free full-facility party featuring pop-ups and performances from a bevy of Buddies buddies hosted by Diane Flacks. It’s going to be a joyous, messy, and most importantly, QUEER night!
Panti Bliss: If These Wigs Could Talk
June 6-9, 2024

And how about this for an iconic pairing? Canada-Ireland Foundation and Buddies present a THISISPOPBABY and Abbey Theatre co-production with If These Wigs Could Talk. 

Meet notorious Irish drag queen Panti Bliss at 54. After a lifetime of accidental activism, far-fetched shenanigans and making a full-time show of herself, she’s now taking a moment to question what her purpose and place in this changing world. Expect salacious stories, impassioned polemics, and some seriously funny soul-searching as Panti takes us from rural Mayo to London’s glittering West End in this big, beautiful and brilliant performance.
Tallulah’s Pride

The best Pride party on the block takes over Buddies for 2 wild nights! Catch Toronto’s top drag and burlesque acts in a super-charged show, and stay late dancing to the hottest tracks with our guest DJs.
2-Spirit Cabaret
June 13, 2024

The 2-Spirit Cabaret is back for its 8th edition! Join Native Earth Performing Arts and Buddies to celebrate, honour, and party with our Two-Spirit and indigiqueer relatives on June 13!

A celebration of the strength, beauty, and talent of queer and 2-Spirit Indigenous people, the Cabaret features music, dance, drag, performance art, and comedy.

Buddies in Bad Times Theatre also brings some favourite events back like the B-Girlz Homo Night in Canada, Queer Song Book Orchestra and the Rainbow Seniors Showcase and Celebration. And then we’re bringing in events that are new to Buddies like New Ho Queen!
