Direct from opening New York’s prestigious Next Wave Festival at BAM, Civic Theatres Toronto presents the Canadian premiere of HUMANS by Circa at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, Friday, November 9, 8PM. Under the direction of circus visionary Yaron Lifschitz, ten acrobats explore the physical limits of their bodies as they push themselves and their fellow members to the extreme. Combining Olympic-level gymnastic movements and hair-raising acrobatic tricks, they jump, somersault, toss each other in the air, balance on one another and twist their bodies in every direction—all on a bare stage. HUMANS by Circa pushes the boundaries of the art form, blurs the lines between movement, dance, theatre and circus, and leads the way with a diverse range of thrilling creations that “redraw the limits to which circus can aspire” (The Age).
