Toronto audiences are invited to rediscover Sleeping Beauty in an enchanting new production that blends classical ballet with modern visual innovation. Ballet of Lights transforms the beloved story into a radiant stage experience, where illuminated costumes and expressive choreography bring fresh energy to a timeless tale.
Rather than relying solely on traditional staging, this production introduces glow-in-the-dark elements that trace every pirouette and leap with shimmering colour. The result is a visually striking performance that feels both familiar and entirely new.
Six Dancers, One Sparkling Stage
At the heart of the show are six accomplished local dancers who guide audiences through the well-known story of Princess Aurora, the spell that changes her fate, and the promise of awakening. Their movement is enhanced by luminous costumes that respond beautifully to the theatre lighting, creating a sense of motion that lingers in the air long after each step.
The production is created by María Farelo and Cristian Pérez of Luma Artistas S.L., whose vision merges classical technique with contemporary theatrical design. The choreography respects the elegance of ballet while embracing technological creativity, making the performance accessible for both dedicated dance lovers and first-time attendees.
