Harry Potter DroneArt Show Brings Wizarding Magic to Toronto This September

September 25 – 26, 2026
YZD (formerally Downsview Airport)

The magic of the wizarding world is heading into the Toronto night sky this September. DroneArt Show: Harry Potter™ will transform YZD, the former Downsview Airport, into a large-scale outdoor spectacle for two nights only.

Taking place on September 25 and September 26, 2026, the experience will use more than 1,200 illuminated drones to recreate memorable imagery inspired by the Harry Potter™ films. Music, dialogue, live performance and technology will come together for an evening designed to immerse audiences in the world of the popular film series.

1,200 Drones Take to the Toronto Sky

Rather than presenting scenes on a traditional screen, the DroneArt Show uses the night sky as its canvas. More than 1,200 synchronised drones will move together to form large-scale images and patterns above the audience.

The aerial choreography will be accompanied by music from the original Harry Potter™ film soundtracks. A live electric violinist will also perform during key moments, adding another layer to the outdoor experience.

Guests will also receive LED wristbands that respond during selected scenes. As a result, the audience becomes part of the visual presentation instead of simply watching from below.

A New Way to Experience Harry Potter

The Toronto performances are part of a wider international tour visiting select cities across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe.

The production offers fans a different way to revisit familiar moments from the films. Instead of relying on conventional projections or stage effects, drone formations, lighting and music work together to create images high above the venue.

The outdoor setting at YZD provides the open space needed for the production. The former Downsview Airport is located at 590 Wilson Avenue in North York.

Food, Drinks and Harry Potter Merchandise

The experience begins before the drones take flight. Doors open at 6 p.m., giving visitors time to explore food and beverage options before the performance. Harry Potter™-themed merchandise, including collectibles, will also be available.

The show begins at 8 p.m. on both evenings and runs for approximately 60 minutes, including an intermission. Organisers recommend arriving early because late entry may not be permitted.

Both seating and lawn ticket options are available. Lawn ticket holders are encouraged to bring blankets or other ground-level picnic items. However, chairs and high heels are not permitted in the lawn area. Paid parking will be available on site.
