VARAC Vintage Grand Prix Returns to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Father’s Day Weekend
June 19 – 21, 2026
Canadian Tire Mosport Park, 3233 Concession Road #10, Bowmanville
The roar of historic engines and the sight of beautifully preserved race cars will once again take centre stage as the VARAC Vintage Grand Prix returns to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park from June 19 to 21, 2026. Celebrating the 46th running of the event and the 50th anniversary of the Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada (VARAC), this annual gathering remains one of the country’s premier celebrations of vintage motorsport.
Held on the legendary Grand Prix circuit at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, the event brings together competitors, collectors, enthusiasts, and families for a weekend dedicated to preserving and showcasing racing history.
Historic Race Cars Take to the Track
The VARAC Vintage Grand Prix features an impressive collection of open- and closed-wheel race cars spanning several decades. Visitors can expect to see machines from the 1950s through the early 2000s competing on one of Canada’s most iconic racing circuits. Vintage, Historic, Classic, Modern Classic, and Formula Classic categories will all be represented throughout the weekend.
Unlike many modern racing events, the Vintage Grand Prix offers spectators a unique opportunity to get remarkably close to the action. Fans can stroll through the paddock area, meet drivers and owners, and admire the craftsmanship and engineering behind these meticulously maintained vehicles. Access to the paddock is included with event admission, providing a behind-the-scenes look at vintage motorsport.
Special Attractions Beyond the Racing
While the on-track competition is the main attraction, the weekend offers much more than racing alone. Event highlights include classic car displays, special guest vehicles, and enthusiast gatherings that celebrate automotive culture from across generations. The popular Field of Dreams classic car show is expected to once again draw an impressive collection of vintage and collector automobiles.
One of the featured attractions for 2026 is the Kastner Cup, a prestigious North American vintage Triumph racing competition that brings together Triumph enthusiasts from across the continent. The event adds another layer of historic significance to an already impressive weekend programme.
Family-Friendly Racing Fun
The VARAC Vintage Grand Prix continues to be one of the most accessible major motorsport events in Ontario. Children aged 16 and under receive free admission when accompanied by a ticketed adult, making it an attractive option for families seeking a memorable Father’s Day weekend outing.
Whether visitors are lifelong racing enthusiasts or simply curious about automotive history, the event offers an engaging blend of competition, heritage, and family entertainment. From the sound of vintage engines echoing around the circuit to the opportunity to see rare race cars up close, the VARAC Vintage Grand Prix promises an unforgettable journey through motorsport history on June 19–21, 2026.
