From sunset to sunrise on October 3, 2026, the 20th Nuit Blanche Toronto takes over the city with free, all-night contemporary art. Experience Toronto transformed by artists for one unforgettable night, produced by the City of Toronto with the city’s vibrant arts community.

Nuit Blanche was originally conceived in Paris, France, in 2002, in an attempt to bring contemporary art to the masses in public spaces. At its core, Nuit Blanche is a 12-hour event with a mandate to make contemporary art accessible to large audiences, while inspiring dialogue and engaging the public to examine its significance and impact on public space.

Nuit Blanche Toronto is a free contemporary art event that cultivates meaningful artistic and curatorial engagement for the broadest public. From sunset to sunrise, city spaces and neighbourhoods are transformed into a temporary living museum of Exhibitions populated by compelling artworks. Unusual or forbidden spaces become sites of contemporary art and facilitate a night of discovery and rediscovery. Every day is suspended as the City’s landscape is transformed to welcome a variety of artistic experiences. Cultural institutions, museums, galleries, and artist-run centres open their doors and offer free access to contemporary art.

The 2026 theme, Tomorrow’s Memories, invites artists, curators and audiences to consider how past artworks and experiences from Nuit Blanche can be remembered, re-visioned and reimagined to reflect on the present and inspire future possibilities through art.

Nuit Talks, Tours and Workshop

Gain a deeper understanding of the ideas and creative processes behind Nuit Blanche exhibitions and artworks. This dynamic lineup of talks, tours and workshops provides accessible opportunities for audiences to engage with participating artists and curators before, during and after the October 5 event.

Admission is free, and registration is required for many sessions.

Nuit Blanche Hub – Harbour Square Park

Connect with friends at the hub – a place that bridges the distance between two waterfront exhibitions. Grab a bite to eat and enjoy installations, participatory experiences, pop-up performances and artist talks (ASL interpreted), with MCs The Switch Collective (opens in new window). The hub is wheelchair accessible and includes a low-sensory rest area where attendees can recharge throughout the night. Washrooms, drinking water, food vendors and printed Nuit Blanche maps are available while supplies last.
