In 2024, the charity supported a record 13,721 patient flights across Canada, with 1,512 of those flights passing through Billy Bishop Airport, making it the second busiest hub in the country for its services. Demand continues to rise in 2025, with projections of a further 7% increase in flights needed by patients. For many Canadians living in remote or underserved regions, these flights represent the only way to receive life-saving care without facing financial hardship.
