Toronto Outdoor Picture Show – Summer 2026 in Parks Across the City
June 26 – August 23, 2026
Christie Pits, Corktown Common, Bell Manor Park
The Toronto Outdoor Picture Show returns for its 16th season in 2026, once again bringing free outdoor film screenings to parks across the city from June 26 to August 23, 2026. Celebrated as one of Toronto’s signature summer events, the festival invites audiences to experience cinema outdoors in a relaxed community setting.
This year’s theme, Going Places, centres on movement, discovery, and adventure. The programme explores stories of travel in many forms — from road trips and rail journeys to voyages across time, borders, and personal milestones. Through its diverse film selections, TOPS encourages audiences to reflect on how travel and new experiences can shape identity, relationships, and perspective.
The season begins with a three-night Opening Weekend at Christie Pits Park from June 26 to 28, featuring films focused on urban adventures and unexpected detours. Following the launch weekend, screenings will continue throughout the summer at Christie Pits, Corktown Common, and Bell Manor Park.
This year marks a temporary change for the festival, as Fort York — a longtime TOPS venue — will not host screenings due to official Fan Festival soccer events scheduled at the site during the summer. Organisers have confirmed plans to return to Fort York in 2027.
Over the years, TOPS has become known for presenting an eclectic mix of films that includes crowd-pleasing favourites, international cinema, documentaries, cult classics, and acclaimed contemporary releases. Many screenings are paired with local short films, live performances, and community programming before the feature presentation begins at sundown.
All events are free to attend, with audiences encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic supplies for the outdoor experience. Screenings operate on a first-come, first-served basis, making early arrival the best way to secure a good viewing spot.

This summer, Toronto welcomes global soccer fans for six international championship matches, and Toronto Outdoor Picture Show is joining the celebration. Each screening also features a Canadian short film, creating a cinematic journey that celebrates travel, culture, and the spirit of a world in motion.
Corktown Common
July 2 – 30, 2026 (Thursdays)
As part of Toronto Outdoor Picture Show’s 2026 programme, Going Places, audiences are invited to gather for five Thursday evening screenings at Corktown Common throughout July. Nestled between the Distillery District and the Don River, the east-end park offers one of the city’s most scenic outdoor movie settings, complete with sweeping skyline views. Friends, families, and film lovers can enjoy free open-air cinema in a relaxed community atmosphere while exploring stories centred on travel, adventure, and discovery. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and settle in for memorable summer nights under the stars.
Bell Manor Park
August 13 – 15, 2026
After a one-year hiatus, Toronto Outdoor Picture Show returns to Bell Manor Park this summer for three consecutive evenings of free outdoor cinema in August. Presented as part of the 2026 programme, Going Places, the screenings will feature family-friendly pairings of short and feature films inspired by travel, adventure, and discovery. Audiences of all ages are invited to gather with friends, family, and neighbours for relaxed summer evenings under the stars.
