Orchestra Toronto’s 2026/2027 Season Celebrates Storytelling, Tradition and Musical Discovery

2026/2027 Season Concerts

November 1, 2026 – Turn of the Century: Elgar, Beach & Sibelius

Orchestra Toronto explores three remarkable works composed in 1899. Featuring Elgar’s Enigma Variations, Amy Beach’s Piano Concerto with Anya Alexeyev, and Sibelius’s Finlandia, the programme celebrates creativity, national identity and musical innovation.

December 6, 2026 – Cherished Traditions, featuring Orpheus Choir of Toronto

A festive afternoon of seasonal favourites brings together Orchestra Toronto and the Orpheus Choir of Toronto. Beloved carols, orchestral classics and sing-along moments create a warm celebration that captures the spirit and joy of the holidays.

January 23, 2027 – License to Thrill: Music of James Bond

Featuring Heather Bambrick, Suzie McNeil and Gavin Hope, this exciting concert celebrates the iconic music of James Bond. Audiences will enjoy legendary themes, cinematic drama and sophisticated orchestral arrangements inspired by the famous spy franchise.

March 7, 2027 – East Meets West: Harmony Across Cultures

Guest artists Amely Zhou and Razak Pirani join the orchestra for a programme blending Eastern and Western musical traditions. Works by Reena Esmail, Kevin Lau and Shostakovich explore identity, resilience, memory and cultural connection.

April 18, 2027 – The Sound of Spring: Beethoven, Elgar, Ho

Celebrating renewal and nature, this programme features Alice Ho’s Jubilation of Spring, Elgar’s Cello Concerto with Lucia Ticho and Beethoven’s beloved Pastoral Symphony. Together, the works evoke reflection, beauty and seasonal transformation.

June 12, 2027 – Scheherazade: Stories in Sound

The season concludes with a celebration of storytelling through music. Featuring works by Saman Shahi, Nielsen, Mychael Danna and Rimsky-Korsakov, the concert combines cultural traditions, vivid orchestral colours and imaginative musical narratives.
