Valour & Victory: Indigenous Veterans Day

Valour & Victory honours the contributions and sacrifices made by Six Nations and Native Allies during the Battle of Queenston Heights and the War of 1812 in support of their British and Canadian compatriots. This annual memorial and reconciliation service remembers Indigenous soldiers who, through courage, strength and peacemaking, helped secure victory at pivotal events throughout the War of 1812 to secure freedom for all Canadians.

“Wonders of Wood,” the Niagara Woodcarvers Show, will be in Niagara-on-the-Lake this year for the first time, with approximately 40 exhibitors set up for this 42nd show. Many others will also bring their work for the competition at youth, novice, intermediate, and open levels. There will also be door prizes, a silent auction and vendors of books, wood, etc.

The display features subtle and sometimes harsh movements inspired by winter in the north. From gentle snowfalls to the aurora borealis gliding over snowy tundra to blizzards and the frosted falls, winter’s spectacle is exciting and magical.

The Christmas Parade

The Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 14, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The parade will start at the intersection of King and Centre Street in Old Town and travel throughout its traditional route down Castlereagh, Wellington, Byron/Prideaux, Simcoe and Queen Streets.

Victorian Christmas Tea
