Tadrak’s Tales at Red Sandcastle Theatre

Tadrak’s Tales at Red Sandcastle Theatre

May 19 – 24, 2026
Red Sandcastle Theatre, 922 Queen Street East

Tadrak’s Tales arrives at the Red Sandcastle Theatre from May 19th to May 24th, transforming the venue into a strange and shifting goblin marketplace for one week only. In this immersive theatre experience, audiences are invited into the world of Tadrak, an unusual merchant who offers more than simple goods. Within his market, stories hold greater value than coin, and every exchange alters the unfolding narrative.

Set within a fantastical realm of monsters, treason, fate, and dark humour, the production blends storytelling with audience participation. Each performance evolves differently depending on the choices made by those present, ensuring that no two tellings are ever the same.

A Choose-Your-Own-Adventure on Stage

Tadrak’s Tales is structured as an interactive fantasy experience in which key decisions are shaped collectively by the audience. Rather than following a fixed script, the story branches in real time, responding to the direction of those engaging with it. Guests may influence outcomes involving dangerous creatures, shifting alliances, and morally complex encounters within the goblin market.

The production runs approximately 50+ minutes and maintains a fast-moving balance of tension, humour, and unpredictability. It is created and performed by Joel Bazin, with stage management by Chelsea Thompson and co-production by Scott Garland. The result is a performance that feels immediate and alive, with each audience shaping its own version of the tale.

The Goblin’s Silent Auction of Oddities

Each evening also features a silent auction showcasing rare and unusual items contributed by local artists and businesses. These offerings extend the world of the performance beyond the stage, allowing audiences to take home physical artifacts inspired by the experience. Much like the narrative itself, the items are eclectic, unpredictable, and often delightfully unconventional.

Audience Advisory and Experience Details

Tadrak’s Tales is recommended for audiences aged 13 and up. Content includes profanity, depictions of murder and death, references to dismemberment, and irreverent dark humour, including deliberately absurd comedic elements.

Blending immersive theatre with interactive storytelling, Tadrak’s Tales offers a unique experience where audiences are not just observers but active participants in a shifting fantasy world—one where every choice carries consequence, and every story demands a price.
