Art Gallery of Hamilton March Break 2026 Camp

The Art Gallery of Hamilton’s March Break Camp 2026 is a week-long, immersive art program designed for young creators. Running Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20, the full-day camp introduces participants to hands-on creative exploration within the Gallery’s exhibitions and studio space. Each day, experienced art instructors guide campers through activities in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, helping them learn artistic techniques and build confidence through experimentation. Inspired by the gallery’s diverse collection, children explore what makes art meaningful before creating their own pieces to take home. Morning drop-off begins at 8:30 am with the camp running daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The program is split into two age groups: Junior (ages 6–8) and Intermediate (ages 9–12). Participants should bring a nut-free lunch and a water bottle.
Registration is required, and prices include all materials, with AGH members receiving a discounted rate. Subsidies are available upon request.
Family-Friendly Drop-In Events
The March Break experience extends beyond the week of camp. A series of drop-in activities throughout March allows families to enjoy art together:
- Storytime in the Gallery – On Tuesday, March 3, families can drop in for an engaging session of stories and art interpretations.
- Family Fun Day – On Sunday, March 15, the Fischer Gallery becomes a hub of interactive art-making for all ages. Participants can join themed creative activities inspired by the museum’s collection.
These family events provide accessible, unstructured art experiences that encourage creativity and connection, with most activities included with regular admission or available for a small fee.
Whether children are enrolled in the full-week camp or families prefer flexible drop-in art days, the Art Gallery of Hamilton’s March Break offerings in 2026 provide creative, educational, and fun experiences for young folks and their families.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- AGH will NOT be providing before or after-care for camp this year.
- AGH will NOT be permitting parents to sign out their kids for lunch.
- Campers must stay signed into camp for the duration of the day (unless they need to go home early due to illness or special circumstances).
- The AGH reserves the right to cancel or combine classes to meet minimum enrolment numbers. If minimum enrolment is not met, a full refund will be provided. Transfer or full refund requests must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the program’s start date, subject to a $25 + HST administrative fee. Refund requests made within 2 weeks of the start date will receive a 50% refund of the program fees, minus the $25 + HST administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after the 2-week notice period.
