Niagara Takes Flight: A Breathtaking New Attraction at Niagara Falls
Now Opens Daily
Niagara Parks’ flagship Table Rock Centre
Visitors to Niagara Falls can discover the destination from an entirely new perspective. Niagara Takes Flight invites guests to soar above its most iconic sights, experiencing the majesty of the region through the eyes of a bird. Housed inside Niagara Parks’ flagship Table Rock Centre, perched at the very brink of Horseshoe Falls, this state-of-the-art attraction combines advanced drone cinematography with a 180-degree domed screen to transport audiences on a 56-kilometre journey. Along the way, guests will witness the region’s dramatic landscapes, rich history, and vibrant culture in a way never before possible.
About the Ride
Filmed over six months using specially designed drones, Niagara Takes Flight captures views of the region that are impossible to experience otherwise. Guests are seated in gondola-style chairs that lift and tilt, giving the sensation of true flight. The journey unfolds across a sweeping 17-metre dome screen, enhanced with dynamic motion programming and multisensory effects, from the rush of wind and mist to subtle fragrances.
The attraction benefits from the creative leadership of Disney Imagineer Rick Rothschild, the visionary behind Soarin’ Over California, the world’s first flying theatre ride. The film takes passengers along the Niagara River corridor across all four seasons, shifting seamlessly from day to night, while Brogent Technologies—a global leader in flying theatre experiences—oversaw construction and development.
Authentic Storytelling
This new experience is not only a ride but also a tribute to the spirit of Niagara. Before boarding, guests enter through a striking digital waterfall marquee before passing through four themed storytelling rooms. These audiovisual galleries explore more than 13,000 years of history, beginning with the last ice age and the geological forces that shaped the Falls.
In the Ancestors Room, original Indigenous artwork by Turtle Clan and Mohawk Nation artist Sara General is animated to share the creation story of Turtle Island. Later, in the Waterfall Room, acclaimed filmmaker and explorer James Cameron—who grew up in Niagara Falls—provides narration reflecting on the area’s post-contact history and cultural milestones. Cameron himself described lending his voice as “a pleasure and honour,” recalling his very first job with the Niagara Parks Commission as a teenager.
