Thousands of Hand-Carved Pumpkins Light Up Milton for a Brand-New Halloween Adventure
Pumpkins After Dark returns to Milton this fall, transforming Country Heritage Park into an illuminated Halloween experience from September 26 to October 31, 2026. The family-friendly outdoor attraction combines thousands of hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns with elaborate displays, live entertainment, pumpkin carving demonstrations, seasonal treats and plenty of photo opportunities.
This year’s event introduces a major new theme: the 2026 Pumpkins After Dark World Tour. Visitors will journey through imaginative displays inspired by different continents while discovering new attractions and returning Halloween favourites.
What Is Pumpkins After Dark?
Pumpkins After Dark has grown into one of Canada’s largest family-friendly walk-through Halloween experiences. More than 10,000 hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns are used across its illuminated displays, with artists transforming pumpkins into characters, creatures and detailed themed scenes.
Unlike a traditional haunted attraction, the main pumpkin experience is designed around artistry and atmosphere rather than scares. Visitors wander through glowing displays after dark, discovering new scenes around each corner. The event is suitable for families, friends and Halloween enthusiasts looking for a seasonal night out without the intensity of a traditional haunted house.
Warning: This event contains strobe, bright and flashing lights unsuitable for those with photosensitive epilepsy and may cause discomfort for people with other medical conditions. Other special effects include fog machines and blacklights. The event incorporates music and sound effects that may cause discomfort to people suffering from sensitivity to loud sounds.
New for 2026: The Pumpkins After Dark World Tour
The biggest addition for 2026 is the Pumpkins After Dark World Tour, featuring brand-new displays organised around different continents. Guests can also join the search for the escaped Pumpkinhead Ed, adding another interactive element to the evening. A new Bee Hive Maze joins the experience this season, alongside themed attractions, live demonstrations and fall treats.
These additions give returning visitors something new to discover while preserving the illuminated pumpkin artistry that has become the event’s signature.
Enter Dracula’s Haunted Castle
Visitors looking for something a little spookier can venture inside Dracula’s Haunted Castle. The castle is a separate immersive maze experience featuring winding corridors, theatrical sets, sound and lighting effects and costumed performers. Organisers say there are no jump scares, blood or gore, although the attraction is recommended for ages six and older. The Dracula’s Castle Maze is not wheelchair accessible.
This gives families the option of enjoying the gentler main pumpkin trail while older children and adults can add a slightly spookier experience to their visit.
Special Nights and Experiences
Pumpkins After Dark is also expanding its special programming for 2026. The Milton calendar includes Wednesday Pet Nights, Discount Thursdays and Sunday Theme Nights.
An Adult Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 15, 2026, giving grown-up Halloween fans a dedicated evening to experience the attraction. Live pumpkin carving demonstrations will also return, allowing visitors to see some of the artistry behind the displays firsthand.
A Family-Friendly Halloween Experience
One of the strengths of Pumpkins After Dark is its broad appeal. Children can marvel at the illuminated creations, while adults can appreciate the craftsmanship involved in producing thousands of individually carved pumpkins.
The main experience avoids the actors and jump scares commonly associated with haunted attractions. Instead, the emphasis is on creativity, light, craftsmanship and Halloween fun.
Seasonal food, photo opportunities and live entertainment add to the atmosphere, making the attraction an easy choice for families looking for an evening Halloween outing.
