2026 Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Celebrates Canadian Music Icons

Canada’s songwriting legacy will be celebrated in grand style this autumn as the 2026 Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony arrives at Toronto’s historic Massey Hall on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Presented by Amazon Music, the prestigious event honours artists whose songwriting has shaped Canadian music and resonated with audiences around the world. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the ceremony beginning at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s inductees include The Tragically Hip, Feist, Mike Reno & Paul Dean of Loverboy, and Roch Voisine — artists representing multiple generations and genres of Canadian music. The evening is expected to feature tribute performances, live collaborations and appearances from fellow musicians celebrating the inductees’ enduring contributions to songwriting and popular culture.

2026 Inductees

The Tragically Hip

Formed in Kingston, Ontario, The Tragically Hip became one of Canada’s most beloved rock bands through poetic songwriting and distinctly Canadian storytelling. Songs including Ahead by a Century, Bobcaygeon and Wheat Kings captured the nation’s imagination for decades. Their induction recognises the group’s enormous cultural influence and the lasting legacy of frontman Gord Downie’s powerful lyrics and performances.

Feist

Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Leslie Feist built her career through emotionally rich songwriting and genre-blending artistry. Her breakthrough album The Reminder featured the global hit 1234, while songs like Mushaboom showcased her intimate vocal style. A multiple JUNO Award winner, Feist is recognised for creating thoughtful, innovative music that continues to influence contemporary Canadian artists and audiences worldwide.

Mike Reno & Paul Dean (Loverboy)

As the creative force behind Loverboy, Mike Reno and Paul Dean helped define 1980s arena rock with energetic, instantly recognisable hits. Their induction celebrates decades of successful songwriting and their continuing influence on Canadian rock music and live performance culture.

Roch Voisine

Roch Voisine became one of Canada’s most successful bilingual singer-songwriters through heartfelt ballads and polished pop songwriting. Rising to fame with Hélène, he built an international career spanning both French and English-language markets. His induction honours a career defined by commercial success, enduring popularity and music that connected audiences across cultures and generations.

Founded in 1998, the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame recognises songwriters, composers and lyricists whose work has left a lasting impact on Canadian culture. The organisation celebrates not only chart success, but also songs that have become woven into the country’s collective identity.
