JerkFest partnering with The Caribbean Children Foundation to help kids with medical care

Grace JerkFest will be relying on festival goers and their generous contributions this year to help raise funds for Caribbean children in need of surgeries and medical procedures.

In cooperation with The Caribbean Children Foundation (TCCF), JerkFest is asking patrons to donate as little as one dollar throughout the course of the three-day event in August, in hopes of raising a total of $10,000 for TCCF. TCCF is a not-for-profit organization that has arranged for children from the Caribbean to travel to Canada for medical care from doctors at Sick Kids Hospital. Recently, the charity has focused on sending Canadian doctors to the Caribbean instead, to ensure that more kids receive the vital medical care they need.

“As a staple amongst the Caribbean community here in Canada, JerkFest is always looking for unique opportunities to support our friends and families back home—especially our children,” says Anthony Plummer, Executive Director of JerkFest. “We are very honoured to be associated with TCCF this year. With the charitable donations from our attendees, we expect to make a real impact within the organization so that TCCF can continue to provide excellent services and improve the lives of children across the Caribbean.”

All proceeds raised throughout the festival will go directly to Sick Kids and help cover medical costs.

“We’re very grateful to JerkFest for opening its doors to us this year and inviting us to be a part of such an iconic, yearly celebration,” says Jay Brijpau,l President of TCCF. “We have assisted more than 160 children from the Caribbean and paid out approximately $1.5 million for the cause. This wouldn’t be possible without the continued support we receive from benefactors, donors and great events such as JerkFest.”
